Chihuahua is the largest state in Mexico by physical size, and the largest by volume of trade with the United States. It has been Mexico’s top exporting state for twelve years running.
Most people do not think about Chihuahua’s industrial base. They should. Some of the most advanced aerospace manufacturing in the world happens there. Ford runs one of its most productive engine operations anywhere in the world in Chihuahua City. Beyond that sits a deep bench of high-end manufacturing: medical devices, electronics, precision auto parts, work that demands real engineering rather than cheap assembly.
The emerging technology community growing up around that industrial base is moving quickly. That is why I am traveling there, to keep building the relationships that bridge Texas and Mexico.
Chihuahua Tech Week, 21 to 25 September
On 21 September I am in Chihuahua for Chihuahua Tech Week, hosted by the Chihuahua Tech Week team, together with Startup Chihuahua and Noro Mx. Here is where Tech Ranch shows up. All times below are Chihuahua local time.
Monday 21 September. Building the future of women’s health. Salud de la mujer: de la investigacion a la paciente. 9:00, Christus Muguerza Del Parque. The opening event of the week, hosted with FemTech Mexico. I will be in the room. The FemTech day closes that evening with Builders Night at Casa XIX Century, bringing founders, industry and investment together. That one is limited capacity and by invitation.
Tuesday 22 September. Podcast recording with Chihuahua Tech Week, 10:00, LivingLab CUU. A conversation on the record about the corridor and what Tech Ranch has learned building bridges between ecosystems.
Tuesday 22 September. En El NORO: what the northwest of Mexico needs to become the next innovation hub. 18:00, LivingLab CUU. Regional leaders and founders on talent and innovation across the northwest. I will be there listening.
Wednesday 23 September. From Startup Founder to Global Catalyst with Kevin Koym, 12:00, LivingLab CUU. This is the working session. What it actually takes to get a Chihuahua company in front of Texas customers and capital, and what Austin gets wrong about Mexico.
Thursday 24 September. ATX → CUU: what can Chihuahua learn from Austin? Fireside chat with Magio Bustillos, 14:00, LivingLab CUU. A two-way conversation with one of the people who knows this ecosystem from the inside.
Thursday 24 September. Startup World Cup 2026, Mexico Regional Final, 18:00. I am on the judging panel. Pegasus Tech Ventures runs this competition globally with regional finals in more than sixty countries, and Startup Chihuahua hosts the Mexico final here. Startups from across the country pitch live, and the winner earns a direct pass to the grand final in Silicon Valley to compete for a one million dollar angel investment prize. Around three hundred investors, founders and corporate leaders in the room, and the whole thing runs in English, which says something about where these founders are already pointed. A networking reception follows.

The manufacturing conversation
There is one more piece I care about most, and it is not on the public schedule: building manufacturing bridges between Chihuahua and Central Texas. Chihuahua’s industrial base, Central Texas demand, and what it actually takes to move between them.
We will be having a small private conversation about this. If you are interested in joining, please reach out to me directly.
What a bridge needs
A bridge needs a firm base on both sides. Chihuahua brings founders and industrial depth. Austin brings capital access, customers and a soft landing. Tech Ranch has run this pattern in Monterrey, in Trentino, in Singapore, in Japan. The pattern holds. What changes is the people on each end, and that is why we go in person.
If you are a founder in Chihuahua
If you are building in Chihuahua and want a path to Texas, find me at any of these events or reach Tech Ranch directly at techranchaustin.com/contact. Tell us what you are building and who your customer is. That is where every corridor conversation starts.
If you are in Austin and looking south, the same door is open.
