If you were invited to present to the top executives at a Fortune 50, how confident would you be?
For Tonia Thompson of Springcreek Systems, the answer was very confident. Her company was invited to present to Dell’s top executives as part of Dell’s first Tech Innovator’s Day. Only 13 companies nationwide were chosen to participate in the day’s events, ending in a pitch slam to 10 of Dell’s top execs.
Springcreek builds software that automates the process of removing duplicates from Salesforce and other CRMs. “The execs were very interested in our technology. I see what we do as a great pairing for Dell Boomi’s integration software and I think they did as well,” Thompson said.
“If it weren’t for the practice and feedback I got during Venture Forth, I would have been so nervous to present to the executives,” said Thompson. “Practicing my pitch week after week and getting valuable feedback from the group helped me nail my presentation to Dell.”
Thompson’s feeling that she nailed her presentation was shared by her fellow innovators. “A few people came up to me after to tell me how the execs were smiling and clearly engaged when I was speaking,” she says. “I’m now in the process of talking to Dell about potential partnership & PR opportunities. I can tell you that confidence really pays off.”
