New Space, International Focus: Meet Tech Ranch
Austin, TX – December 15, 2014 – Tech Ranch® Austin focuses on supporting entrepreneurs by tapping into the social capital of their community. With a new office space and a new team member on board, they have a refined focus on surpassing existing goals for programming, international expansion and entrepreneurial education in 2015.
Taking on global challenges has become the center of conversation at Tech Ranch®, and now part of its mantra. Last year, “the Ranch” worked with five different countries to educate their entrepreneurs via programming on the ground. In the year ahead the plan is to double-down on this outreach. Targeted countries include those who are hoping to grow their base of entrepreneurs and provide homegrown fledging companies an edge in their U.S. expansion efforts. Additional programming will include both virtual and in-country education, SXSW activities and the opportunity to co-work in the Tech Ranch® space. Tech Ranch’s message is clear: each entrepreneur can pioneer change and have an impact on the global economy.
Whether it be entrepreneurs who are taking advantage of the multiple development programs, individuals attending networking Campfires or companies utilizing the new space, the message is clear. According to Founder and CEO Kevin Koym, “I started Tech Ranch® to support entrepreneurs through the first steps in their journey to the delivery of their mission – taking on global challenges and making the world a better place. It’s exciting to see that our community is growing and our entrepreneurs are delivering on these missions.”
The company’s new office space is accelerating this forward momentum. Located at 8920 Business Park Drive in north Austin, the positive changes in the new space are ready to greet visitors at the front door. With 3,000 additional square feet and a lot of extra space for growth, not only is the layout ideal for fostering the Tech Ranch® community, but the brand-new owner of the space has years of experience with entrepreneurs. The space was previously the home of Austin Technology Incubator.
Hired to jump start these initiatives is Jaime Sutton, the new Director of Marketing and Operations. After completing her MBA at the McCombs School of Business, Jaime took on a post-graduate role with Texas Venture Labs, serving as the Venture Partner in charge of on-campus relations, recruiting and operations. With experience in education, technology and startups, Tech Ranch® is excited to have her on the team to make these goals a reality.
