Focus on the problem, solution, and customer segment squares first.
*Important* there are lots of “canvas” models on the internet. The two most popular are the “Business Model Canvas” and the “Lean Canvas” models. In Venture Forth, we use the Lean Canvas but we also refer to the Business Model Canvas as an additional reference.
Questions to ask yourself:
- Do you have a hypothesis to each one of the 9 squares on the page?
- Is there a clear way to test that hypothesis? (not indirect, but direct proof)
- What is your specific customer segment? What is your entry point? Focus there before a thinking about expansion markets.
