As we ramp up for our next cohort of Venture Forth®, I wanted to try to capture why entrepreneurs tell us they get so much out of the class. For direct quotes of what they’ve told us, check out our testimonials page:http://www.TechRanchaustin.com/testimonials
Many startups that I have talked with have mentioned this sense of isolation in getting their business up and running. There are several dimensions to this, but can largely be summed up with not having anywhere to go for a specific need.
The Venture Forth® program is an intensive community experience where entrepreneurs work side by side with each other in the trenches of a boot camp that pushes each startup to incorporate new perspectives and practices into their business to make them more effective. It’s not about absorbing tons of new information or homework. It’s about practicing new ways of operating your business.
Lean process is something that is practiced extensively in the class and goes to the heart of the purpose of the class which is finding your market and developing your product to align with what the market is willing to pay for. It is a scientific method for startups where the objective is to minimize waste, quickly validate ideas, and develop minimum viable products that get the product out there to see what the market says with their wallet.
We are proud of the fact that a quarter of startups get to their first dollar of revenue while in the program. The success of these companies is facilitated by a relentless focus on what’s important to move the business forward. As some have said more directly, they need the push and accountability. With so much to do, it’s understandable that some things get missed. Venture Forth® pushes entrepreneurs to do what is necessary to move their business forward.
