My name is Doug Quitmeyer co-founder of Your6 Inc. I served in the US Army for 8 years, and was a part of Special Operations for the entire time. The best part of that was my last duty station, where I was a warfare instructor. Teaching is something that I really enjoy doing, because you get to learn as well, and also because of the “lightbulb”. Have you ever been doing something new, and all of a sudden you realized that it was extremely similar to something else you have done in the past? Lightbulb.
Your6 was created because of that “lightbulb”, to capture all of the similar “lightbulbs” between military and civilian careers. To a lot of Veterans, being able to tell someone in an interview why an 11B3VB4 (Staff Sergeant Airborne Ranger Sniper) has the skills and competencies to be a great worker for any business is extremely difficult for the Veteran to express, and the employer to understand. We have built a software that automatically translates everything a Veteran has done in the military into civilian language, aggregates experience in competencies and skills, and produces an output profile in about 5 minutes. A simple way to think of what we are currently doing, and where we are going is that we are creating a marketplace of “Moneyball meets a verified LinkedIn.”
