Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is Tech Ranch and how do I get involved?
A: Tech Ranch Austin is a technology incubator headquartered in Austin Texas. Tech Ranch Austin is focused on accelerating pre-seed and seed stage technology companies that can change the world. Tech Ranch Austin was founded by Austin entrepreneurs Kevin Koym and Jonas Lamis. The Tech Ranch team has expertise that spans software, hardware, alternative energy and emerging technologies. The Tech Ranch team currently accelerates start-ups like Piryx, IPX, Zehicle and Perception Labs through advisory and venture development services, and houses startups like OneSpot and BeGreeted in the Tech Ranch incubation facility.
Q: What makes TR stand out from other incubators in Central Texas?
A: We're taking a different approach to working with entrepreneurs- we think of the Tech Ranch Austin as a "community center for entrepreneurs" where entrepreneurs can get involved in building their business without having to give away the farm, nor jump through a bunch of hoops to get the conversation started at the earliest stages in their firms. Moreover, the Ranch brings other successful entrepreneurs to help out earlier stage entrepreneurs- in an open community way. Also, we're more than happy to work with other incubators, consultants, and other entrepreneurial support initiatives- our strategy is to be open in building our entrepreneurial community together.
Q: Which criteria does Tech Ranch use for companies to work with?
A: Number one issue: seriousness on the interaction. We look for technology entrepreneurs that are committed to building their ventures. We will work with entrepreneurs at the earliest stages of their ventures and entreprenuers that have been at it for quite a while... but we seek to find entrepreneurs that are engaged with what they are working on.
Q: How can I book an hour with TR partners?
A:Come to one of our Campfire meetings first. Join the community, and let us get a public preview of you and your venture as we bring the community together around the Campfire. From there, we'll work with you to book the next appropriate interaction.
Q: How do I join Tech Ranch Partner network?
A: Tech Ranch invites value added service providers from the Central Texas community to join the Tech Ranch partner network. The Tech Ranch Incubator works with some of the most exciting technology start-ups in America. We connect our partners with these start-ups to provide services that help them reach their growth and funding goals. Contact: jonas@techranchaustin.com
